Building & Zoning
The Building and Zoning Department is responsible for issuing all permits and enforcement of zoning and code issues. Permits are required for all construction projects including;
- New homes
- Additions
- Decks
- Sheds
- Fences
- Swimming pools
- Electrical
- Plumbing and heating
The department also schedules zoning hearings for variances or special exceptions to the zoning ordinance.
Zoning Board hearings are held on the second and third Monday of the month at 7 pm, as needed.

- What are the restrictions for sheds?

Private residential sheds shall not exceed 200 square feet and shall be no closer than 5 feet to any property line.
- Where can a fence be located on your property?

Fences can be located up to the property line.
- What are the height restrictions for a fence?
-
Fences can have a maximum height of seven feet in the rear and side yards and a maximum height of four feet in the front yard. No fence higher than 24 inches shall intrude in the sight triangle.
