Serviceberry Height: 6-12 feet Width: 15-20 feet The Serviceberry tree, may also be known as a Juneberry, Shadblow, or Shadbush. This large shrub has erect stems that form multi-stemmed clumps The serviceberries, genus Amelanchier, are deciduous shrubs or small trees that grow in the understory of temperate forests. This deciduous tree/shrub is multistemmed and gets up to 20 ft tall with a dense, bushy spread up to 10 ft across. The bush sends up numerous suckers and can become quite a thicket. Serviceberry trees have leaves that are 2 inches long and have a very pretty white fuzzy coat when young, but becoming shiny green as they mature. |

Sugar Maple (and Black Maple) Height:60' to 80' Width:40' to 70' Sugar maple is native to moist, cool sites in central and eastern U.S. and Canada. On spacious sites it is a most attractive shade tree. Foliage is dense and develops spectacular autumn colors. Smooth gray bark becomes furrowed with age, ultimately with long, scaly plates. Growth rate is slow to medium. Black maple is closely related and very similar to sugar maple in most traits, but is a separate species. |

Kousa Dogwood Height:20' to 30' Width:20' to 30' The Kousa Dogwood tree, is a small specimen tree or shrub. It is planted as a specimen near a patio, or in groupings. This deciduous tree has red fruits that look like a big round raspberry. The fall color is red to maroon. Because of its disease resistance, it is becoming the best replacement for the White dogwood. The flowering tree, Kousa Dogwood, has low water requirements and displays a moderate tolerance for salt and alkali soils. |
